Giving back and supporting our local community.
We care about what our patients care about and have recently developed the Freedom Giving Back Initiative which endeavours to give back to our local community. Freedom Dental is currently supporting the following various organisations:
Women for Women International
Their projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo help women to earn and support themselves and overcome the difficult realities of their everyday lives. They provide financial aid, vocational training, emotional support and classes for rights awareness.
This organisation provides a method for people and organisations to help children from under-privileged communities to have a chance at a good future. These child sponsorships help the overall development and progression of the community by helping give the next generation a strong foundation.
The Lighthouse Foundation
The Lighthouse foundation is an effort to provide homeless young people a family and place where they can belong. A lot of these people have suffered abuse and neglect and this foundation enables them to reconnect with others and the community to regain control of their lives, while providing therapeutic care.
Pink Ribbon Breakfast
This initiative has been put together by The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), a community-funded organisation in Australia that raises money for prevention and cure of breast cancer. For this program it is traditional to host a Pink Ribbon Breakfast throughout October, Breast Cancer Month or on Pink Ribbon Day.
St Kilda Mums
St Kilda Mums and Impact for Women aims to help women in crisis as a result of domestic violence. It also reached out to their children and is specifically directed to women in Victoria. It works towards mobilising the community against domestic violence and rehabilitation of victims. The organisation function with the help of volunteers and has no paid employees.
